Do I share a milestone birthday year with any of you? It would be lovely to know?

We’ve danced through various eras, from disco beats to the grunge revolution, we've experienced the thrill of space exploration, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the dawn of the digital age.

In those days, our experiences weren't filtered through screens; they were lived in the raw, unfiltered moments. It was a time when conversations weren't interrupted by notifications, but running to a red phone box to ring your loved one on time.
There's a nostalgic beauty in reminiscing about a time when the pace was analogue, the connections were more tangible…BUT, I wouldn’t be talking to you all without the pesky digital revolution and my business has been made possible because of a wonderful online and in-person supportive community. I free lucky to have experienced both types of living, different vibes, different experiences—both have their perks.

So, why does 50 feels more important?
Wisdom and Experience: By 50, we've amassed a treasure trove of experiences and they create our wisdom. We carry within us the resilience from overcoming challenges, the joyful moments, and the invaluable lessons learned in the quiet spaces in between. BUT even in our wisdom the universe humbles us as we reach the top of the stairs, wondering why we climbed them in the first place.
Self-Discovery: Many people find their 50s to be a time of self-discovery and embracing authenticity. For me it’s akin to finally admitting that I have no idea how to fold a fitted sheet—there's a mess, a few laughs, and an overwhelming sense of liberation as it’s bundled into the blanket box. Turns out, wrinkles and creases are just part life’s charm.
New Beginnings: For some, 50 marks the beginning of exciting new chapters. While some are contemplating retirement, I'm planning my next 50 years of being an artist like a rebellious teenager sneaking out past curfew. So expect an invitation and front row seat to a number of exciting adventures ahead.

P.S I really don’t mind the extra wrinkles, I actually quite enjoy getting older, I appreciate the privilege BUT who thought extra chin hairs would come in useful at this age? I would pull them out with a tweezer but my eyesight is failing me.
We've been thinking of you as you go through this. I know it's exhausting on so many levels. Wishing you continued resilience and energy as you just take the necessary next step, all my love Sam x
I enjoyed reading this Sam. I turned 50 at the very end of 2023. I didn't quite expect a week later to be flooded out of my house. On the positives it's definitely given me space for reflection. I remember the nostalgia x
